absolutely spot on. brilliant piece Omer. As an immigrant who came here a decade ago I have witnessed this decline in the past 4 years. The immigration policy thru which I qualified was highly geared towards ensuring Canada got the immigrants who would immediately benefit the society and provide the country with a future generations of established contributing immigrant second generations. The system is now totally broken. How did the leadership let this happen? It almost seems there was no control or foresight.

The biggest fear is if there is actual leadership out there that can recover from this damage.

Given the dysfunctional immigration system in Germany, I have often advised to try Canada instead. I learnt from the responses that there are similar problems in Canada as in Germany, UK, Ireland... But at least the chances of entering the country are better.

Until everyone is free, no one is free. Migration to a seemingly rich country, which seems rich because of the wealth of some people, is not a solution to the world's problems.
